This is the continuation from page 1 where I had a problem with build quality from Lulzbot. They gave me no shit whatsoever, and promised to get replacement parts to me asap.

Good to their word, I got this the next morning.

Very well packed, the box was stuffed full of bubble wrap. The ding in the box popped a few bubbles, but the parts were fine.

And speaking of fine, click the photo above and look at the print quality! Except for the lined surface, these parts almost look injection molded. I am impressed. I counted them against the parts list and not only is everything there, I got a few extras.

This is the new replacement of the Wades extruder parts. I rolled the gears together and they're pretty smooth. If this is the quality of their products, I have no trouble recommending you buy from them.

These are the T5 belts from Ultimachine. As you can see they fit really well. There was no flash or cleanup required on these pulleys. It isn't reasonable to expect no cleanup on printed parts, and some of the parts needed some, but damned little.

Just to recap, this is the cheapest plastic part kit I could find at $55.00 US plus shipping. I ordered on a weekend and they shipped on Monday. The box arrived on Wednesday and I wrote the first draft of page one, then contacted them accidentally through chat that evening. They immediately stepped up and said they would fix it. Thursday, they packed the complete replacement of the plastics and sent it to me OVERNIGHT. I had it at 10:00 AM Friday. All this in less than a week. In fact, the replacement parts arrived before the hardware, so I didn't lose any build time whatsoever. Amazing service.

Do I recommend you buy from them? YOU BET! I have no connection to them other than as a customer. Did the fact that I wrote the web page play into it? Maybe.

If you buy from them and receive less than stellar service, let me know and I'll post it here.

While waiting for the mailman to bring the hardware, I decided to work on the electronics. The new Pololu drivers needed to be soldered to the headers and the heat sinks stuck in place.

Here is the driver just out of the plastic. Be careful to remove the little double sided tape from the package before you toss it!

The driver is tiny. Instead of counting the pins...

...I just put it in the little circuit board to show me where to cut.

Then I plugged the headers into the RAMPS board...

...and laid the driver on it for a soldering jig.

You can tell the newer drivers by the heat sinks. It's hard to believe this is the entire electronics package for the Prusa.

While I was doing that, the hardware showed up.

Stay tuned for the assembly.
